Ultro Technologies Limited was founded on 6 February 1987 and listed on the Main Board of Singapore Exchange (SGX) on 23 October 1998 as an electronics manufacturer and distributor. In April 2010, with the mandate from shareholders to explore new business opportunities in the sourcing, supplying, trading and distributing of natural resources, we completed our planned exit from our electronics business. We will now focus on building our new business to create value for shareholders in the years to come.

As of beginning of financial year in FY2011, we are fully focused exclusively on our Indonesian thermal coal trading and mining venture. We are currently prospecting on two producing mines, both in Penajam, East Kalimantan Indonesia. Concurrently, we are also reviewing new investment opportunities which we feel would mark the start of our transformation into one of the leading resource-mining companies in Southeast Asia.

We have established a new office in Balikpapan for various administrative, operational and marketing activities to provide a more localised support to expand our involvement in this new coal business.
